What is Modern Jive?

The most flexible dance of all?

Modern Jive is a very non-sexy name for an easy and sociable dance. It takes elements of many other dance styles and puts them all into one. It contains elements of Salsa, Swing, Ballroom, Latin, and more, and as such works to almost any style, rhythm and speed of music.

It may sound difficult, but it is actually one of the easiest dance styles to learn. It works to most music you will encounter and does not take up much space, as such it is ideal for dancing at weddings and parties, especially when combined with a social foxtrot from our ballroom classes.

Many of our students at Dance Devotion come to us to learn Modern Jive, then move on to Ballroom, Latin or Argentine Tango once they get the dance bug.

At Dance Devotion we currently provide Modern Jive tuition in private lessons only in the Norwich area. Give us a call to give it a go.
